Be Flexible With Your Choice Of Tools
I’d like to discuss the importance of being flexible with your choice of tools. Throughout the past 2 1/2 years every company I have worked for people used Eclipse for the IDE. The Eclipse IDE is used practically at every major company due to the open source nature of the development it does have it shortcomings. Eclipse can be very buggy and slow at times.
The point of the matter is when I accepted my new contract position most of the people were using NetBeans IDE. I initially brushed it off and thought I would just use Eclipse. After awhile I figured I might as well give NetBeans a chance.
The moral of the story was that I was pleasantly surprised just intuitive and polished NetBeans was. Remember that you should be flexible with your choice of tools and you may be pleasantly surprised.
