Another Update
Good afternoon, it’s been a hectic week and it’s only Tuesday. I had a phone screen yesterday and another interview had to be postponed. I was really looking forward to the delayed interview. It’s a company that I would get a 4 month contract by a phone screen and convert to perm after that. It seems to be a really nice niche businesses that I would enjoy working for. I also am noticing a few more local opportunities starting to trickle in which is nice.
I also got pissed off at this Indian recruiter that called me about a job yesterday. He asked me how I wanted to get paid and I told him W2 and he said he only does corp to corp. Sorry, I am a US citizen I do not work in layers and allow someone else to get a cut of my hard earned money. I simply hung the phone up on him. US Citizens not and should not work in layers. There should only be 1 layer at the most between you and the client.
Another funny thing that happened to me today was some Indian recruiter (always get the pushiest ones or absurd requirements from them) was pushing a job in Iowa. No thanks. There is no way I would ever leave the sunny south. I do not think I could take the empty space and cold winters. I would go board being so far from any reasonable size metro area.
Now, I have to get back to work and continue my never ending hunt.
