I just started my 3rd week at my new position with a large financial company here in Charlotte. It’s hard to believe a few months ago I was still working in Florida and optimistic about my contract. If I’ve learned one thing from the last position is to start networking while you still have a job. It’s way easier to do the grunt work while you still have a job. All you need is to get a few contacts each day (or whatever timeframe suits you.) The key is to just be consistent and build a large network. LinkedIn is great for this.

I just moved into my new apartment in the city on Friday. It’s by far the coolest and nicest apartment I have ever lived in.  It’s so close to everything. There’s a ton of places to walk to within 15-20 minutes. It’s alot different than suburbia where I used to live. Although it’s still close enough to the big stores and chains if I want to go to them.

Whew, I was so exhausted. I finally arrived in Charlotte yesterday after driving 10 hours in 2 days.  It’s hard to believe I’m finally here. I spent the last 18 months of my life in Tampa and loved the experience.  Just kind of wondering what to expect tomorrow.  It’s gonna be quite a change ($$$ and otherwise).

I am looking forward to the new challenges and possibilities of this new city. Now if I can only find a new apartment that meets my needs (location, lease terms, etc…).
